Nagaland String Orchestra was formed in 2018 under the leadership of Mr. Joey Woch as Director and Mrs. Louise Shishak as Coordinator; with an aim to cater beautiful music to the community, and help its members to develop musicianship, knowledge of varied musical styles, and the ability to play with others by way of expressing a common theme and emotion.

Most of the pioneering 14 members were previously students of Joey and Louise who have gone on to become established teachers and performers themselves.

They are based in Dimapur, and have performed with Choirs such as Nagaland Chamber Choir, Margaret Shishak School of Music, under the direction of guest conductor Mhonroni Ezung.
